Program Support Manager Georgia Tech CEA-Atlanta (Extension Professional I/II)

Serving within the Research Faculty of The Institute, this position directly supports the extension, service, and economic development missions of Georgia Tech to the State of Georgia and beyond. Primarily this position serves as a Program Support Specialist for the Georgia Tech Contracting Education Academy (GT-CEA), a program under the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI<sup>2</sup>) in Atlanta, GA.  Successful candidate will support the operations of the GT-CEA which offers professional education in the field of acquisition and public sector contracting for government and business communities. Functions managed include program marketing, instructor management, curriculum development, instruction, and accreditation.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop a full understanding of course offerings.
  • Cultivate sales leads from new and existing contacts.
  • Draft proposals in response to Requests for Quotes/Proposals for training opportunities.
  • Generate and post content for the website ( and social media pages.
  • Facilitate 1, 4, 5, and 10-day courses to groups of up to 30 students.
  • Deliver courses in accordance with instructor guide, student materials, and published course descriptions.
  • Provide feedback on materials to the instructional design team.
  • Participate in the design and development of content and learning experiences for a variety of audiences.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related/relevant field (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
  • Work Experience: One to four years job-related experience (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
  • Skills: This job requires candidates to possess current knowledge, skills, and abilities in the federal contracting duties outlined in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). This includes, but is not limited, to acquisition planning, solicitation development, source evaluation and selection, contraction administration and closeout. Use of office related computer applications is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred Education: MBA and/or Masters Degree in related/relevant field.
  • Preferred Skills/Work Experience: Five or more years job-related work experience, especially in the area of federal contracting. Having earned a DAWIA (or FAC-C) Certification in Contracting and recent instructional or presentation experience is a plus.

Georgia Tech Extension Professionals are research personnel that fulfill the extension and service mission of Georgia Tech to the State of Georgia and beyond.  This mission includes, but is not limited to, technology-based economic development, technology commercialization and deployment, entrepreneurship, start-up company incubation, and business/industry outreach.  Extension Professionals also provide educational programs for business and industry in support of these missions through facilitating and fostering increased industrial engagement and sponsorship of applied research activities at Georgia Tech.  Extension Professional appointments are based on the merit and special qualifications of the individual and follow the same general ranking, hiring, and promotion principles as other professional research faculty ranks. 

Extension Professional I – Positions filled at this level are candidates who possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and who will be performing on a professional level.

Extension Professional II – Positions filled at this level are candidates who possess a master’s degree and three years of relevant full-time experience after degree completion; a master’s degree and five years of relevant full-time experience after degree completion; or a doctoral degree.
